Building a new home along the Carolina coast means making design choices that complement both the view and the lifestyle. For this Carolina Beach homeowner, the goal was clear—find stylish and functional window coverings that could provide uniform curb appeal, privacy, and light control in every room.
Creating Balance and Comfort from the Ground Up
During construction, the homeowners contacted Unique Perspective Window Coverings to seek a comprehensive window solution for their entire home. They envisioned shutters with motorized shades—classic, consistent, and easy to use. Their main priorities were a cohesive exterior look and an interior that provided comfort suited for bright, sunlit days by the ocean.
After careful evaluation, our design team proposed a combination that would meet every need:
- Norman Shutters on the front of the home for a timeless, symmetrical appearance.
- Large motorized roller shades for expansive glass doors.
- Solar shades in the crow’s nest to minimize glare.
- Horizons natural woven shades in the office and primary bedroom to bring warmth and texture indoors.

A Coastal Home, Complete at Last
From bare construction windows to fully dressed and functional, the results were stunning. The combination of shutters and shades brought depth and definition to every room. Front-facing windows now have a polished, uniform appearance, while interior spaces feel bright yet protected from intense coastal sunlight.
The motorized systems provide homeowners with effortless control over light and privacy throughout the day—especially valuable in Carolina Beach, where sunlight shifts quickly and temperatures fluctuate with the ocean breeze. The finished result strikes a perfect balance between practicality and modern style.
