Designing a custom window treatment plan for an oceanfront home in Wrightsville Beach calls for a thoughtful blend of aesthetics, privacy, and performance. This newly built coastal residence featured expansive windows and large sliding doors—beautiful for views, yet requiring a tailored solution that would enhance comfort while maintaining the home’s relaxed, upscale coastal style.
The Challenge: Privacy, Light, and Coastal Living
The homeowners needed custom window treatment solutions that would provide privacy without blocking natural light or detracting from the open feel of their oceanfront home. With Wrightsville Beach’s intense sunlight, reflective glare, and salt-air exposure, durability and long-term performance were essential considerations alongside design.
The Solution: Layered Custom Window Treatments
Project Highlights: Designed for Flow and Comfort
A Balanced Mix of Style and Performance
A thoughtful combination of roller shades, natural shades, and Averté natural drapery was installed throughout the home. Large sliding doors were softened with custom drapery for scale and ease of use, while roller and natural shades provided clean lines, light control, and warmth across living spaces.
From Exposure to Elegance
Before & After the Transformation
Once open and exposed, the home now feels refined and comfortable. The custom window treatments softened harsh sunlight, enhanced privacy, and added texture and depth—creating a polished interior that still celebrates ocean views and natural light.
